IP BASED NETWORKS

IP Network is the telecommunication backbone network infrastructure that utilize to full extent the TCP/IP protocol suite. The term IP Networks and TCP/IP Networks are synonymous.

IP based Network uses a packet-switched architecture, in which data are broken up into smaller "packets", with each packet containing a source address and destination address. IP packets are handed over to a data link layer protocol, such as Ethernet, for the actual, physical transmission to the next node in the network path.

While "IP" refers to the entire TCP/IP protocol suite, the term "IP layer" refers to just the network-to-network part, occupying layer 3 in the "protocol stack".

IP Network is capable to transporting voice, data & video traffic around the network which means networks such as: CCTV, PAGA, access control, Telephone networks etc… can be implemented seamlessly using IP backbone network infrastructure. Fibre Optic cables are the main physical medium in transporting IP traffic.

LAN/WAN NETWORKS

LAN Networks provides for the connection of computing devices that are closely located within a single location. Connecting more than one LAN over a telecom backbone infrastructure such as SDH, VSAT, MW, forms WAN Network.

SATELLITE COMMUNICATION NETWORKS (VSAT)

Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT), is a two-way satellite ground station or a stabilized maritime Vsat antenna with a dish antenna that is smaller than 3 meters. The majority of VSAT antennas range from 75 cm to 1.2 m. Data rates typically range from 56 kbit/s up to 4 Mbit/s. VSATs access satellite(s) in geosynchronous orbit to relay data from small remote earth stations (terminals) to other terminals (in mesh topology) or master earth station "hubs" (in star topology).

VSAT network is a telecom backbone used to connect two or more remote sites. to transmit narrowband data ( RFID data; or SCADA), or broadband data (for the provision of satellite Internet access to remote locations, VoIP or video). VSATs are also used for transportable, on-the-move (utilising phased array antennas) or mobile maritime communications.

PUBLIC ADDRESS & GENERAL ALARM NETWORKS

PAGA network is an essential network for the plant safety. PAGA networks can be designed as centralized amplifier networks or distributed (NODAL ARCHITECTURE) amplifier network and covers onshore plant and offshore platforms. Distributed Nodal Architecture design can be IP based network or can operate using its own FO network infrastructure.

VOIP NETWORKS

VOIP networks covers legacy telephone networks and IP based telephone Networks. The IP based telephone networks are the preferred telephone infrastructure for onshore facilities that are its telecom networks are based on IP backbone infrastructure.
